This semester, I enrolled in an Intro to Professional Development course. This class is held once every week in a large lecture hall. I chose to take this class because I am applying for a study abroad internship for this upcoming Summer of 2019 and would like to build my business profile before then. I think it's very helpful to start early so that you can get a strong head start and have more time in the future for new changes and edits to your resume and social media profiles. The very first assignment I was given in this class was a group scavenger hunt, and I'm going to take you through every step of the way!

We made our first stop at the Temple University Career Center, where we got free texting gloves! There are many services that the Career Center here provides for students at Temple, including mock interviews, resume building, and ways to get internships through an online network called Handshake.

Our second task was to take a picture with our beloved Temple Owl! It’s now an official honorary member of Group 9!

Next up was a quick pic at the Samuel Paley Library! The library is named after Samuel Paley, a Ukraine immigrant who ran a family cigar business. His son, William Samuel Paley, was a Philadelphian Jewish philanthropist as well as the chief executive that grew the Columbia Broadcasting System from a small network to one of the largest ones operating in the US today!

We then paid a visit to Temple News at the Student Center, where we asked one of the journalists about how to start volunteering. She told me that someone in my major (CSI) could work in the Engagements Department to help with how to present the newspaper to students and also how to get people to actually pick it up and read it!

I really wanted to become a part of Temple TV this semester, so I took

the opportunity to ask about how to join when we visited for this

scavenger hunt! I talked to someone named David who volunteers for TUTV. I asked him what the organization does, how to join, and when they meet. He told me that they run two shows together called Temple Update and Update Ahora, each running about 30 minutes. To join, I would be able to just show up and hop in to volunteer. They meet

every day of the week, so there’s always a chance to get involved! Baker Dave Presents… and Film Noir Theatre are 2 shows I read about on the TUTV website that I thought were really cool!

Following our visit to the TUTV, our group parted our separate ways. On my way back to my dorm room in Morgan Hall South, I made a quick stop at Weiss Hall to poke my head into the Communication and Social Influence Department at the 2nd floor! Unfortunately, the department chair wasn’t present at the time, but I got this fun selfie with someone else in the office!

Upon leaving Weiss Hall, I realized I was a bit hungry, so I took some time to treat myself and get food at one of the trucks outside of the student center. I wanted to try something new, so instead of going to the Halal or Jamaican trucks, I went to the Mexican truck to see what was in store for me. I ended up trying the the pork and pineapple tacos, which were absolutely delicious! They even give you an extra tortilla underneath, so if you have anything that falls out from the taco you pretty much have a second taco!

To end this wonderful journey, I went up to the ninth floor lounge oto get this amazing view of the sunset and skyline over Broad Street
