If you're a foodie and spend your time watching videos on Buzzfeed or Food Insider, then you're probably familiar with this avocado gelato! It's sold at Snowflake, a cute and petite luxury gelato shop in London. During my last week in London, I decided I wanted to try as many unique foods special to London as possible! (See my vegan fish and chips post)

My friend, Dan, and I had spent the day exploring as many parts of London as we could that we both hadn't been to yet. We replicated an awesome picture of St. Paul's Cathedral in London that Dan had found and met a South African photographer there! We walked around Chinatown and found our way into a club with a gigantic disco ball and hung out there for a bit! After this, we set out to find Snowflake so I could try this famous gelato for myself. On the way, we came across a really cool arcade, but I'll come back to that in another post!

When we arrived, I saw that there was only one avolato left and I held my breath up until I got to the counter. It's a whopping £9.50 ($13), but I had come all this way, and it was the last one, so I figured why the hell not!

For a luxury gelato shop with a famous dessert, the lighting wasn't really that great to capture it. Anyways, here's the Avolato in all its glory! Absolutely loved the bamboo boat-shaped 'bowl' and spoon as well. So cute and great for the Earth!

The Avolato is served in a real avocado shell, so there isn't a lot of gelato, but it's so rich that you don't need a lot anyways. The gelato itself was so smooth and creamy–such a treat at the end of a long day! Its flavour was spot-on and far better than I expected. You could tell that they really utilized the avocado to create a sweet, refreshing flavour that kept its taste while still feeling like you're eating a dessert. Not to mention, that ball meant to resemble to pit was delicious as well! It was peanut butter flavoured and I honestly liked it a bit more than the avocado flavour. Snowflake's Avolato is the perfect mix of creamy with a little acidity of lime (I believe) paired with the sweet nuttiness of the gelato pit. I don't know if it was worth the money, but it was definitely an intriguing opportunity I couldn't pass up. Not to mention, a tasty one!
